Princess Ryoko: Imperial Agent

Princess Ryoko: Imperial Agent” (Tokumu Naishinnō Ryōko) is an alternate-history fantasy novel by Kyuzo Tanaka. The story depicts a bizarre twist of fate and power struggles centered around Ryoko, a princess with a secret birth hidden from history, and Hiejima, a demoted non-commissioned officer.

Princess Ryoko, who suddenly appears before the demoted NCO Hiejima, harbors a secret birth that has been completely erased from history.

Chasing after Ryoko is Colonel Inagaki, a military surgeon, and Ferdinand, a young nobleman from the Principality of Modelonia.
Then there is Baron Hosaka, a master schemer and descendant of one of the original oligarchs of the Penglei Empire.
Wherever Ryoko goes, she crosses paths with Tabuyan, a young girl from the Yarud tribe.
Connected to Tabuyan is Zhao Huayuan, a powerful warlord.
There are also the bandits who reverently refer to Ryoko as their “Big Sister.”
An old female fortune-teller who excels at turning away her customers.
Fukakusa, an officer cadet who looks up to Hiejima.
Princess Reiko, Ryoko’s half-sister.
And Prince Takakibi-no-Miya Yoshihiko, the younger brother of the Penglei Empire and the father of both Reiko and Ryoko.

Everyone who crosses paths with Ryoko finds themselves swept up in the vortex of her bizarre and tumultuous fate.
